First would like to say thank you for a amazing tasty dinner, me and my wife enjoyed it.
Walking in we was greeted by nice kind waitress made me feel so welcome. Being far from home we was treated with nice respect.
For entree,
I had the octopus - Very nice cooked well it’s not easy to perfect octopus and can be easily over cooked in this case it was cooked perfectly melted in mouth fresh taste the candy walnuts was nice with the basil the pickled red onion every Element put together on a fork is just mouth watering and very tasty.
The wife had calamari rings-
Her comments “very nice” i had a try I can say cooked as well to perfection taste fresh simple but executed well.
Main
Come on they had the 550g rib eye a bloke like me can’t turn this steak down. I ordered it and it came looking like someone has delivered a golden nugget on my plate. Asked for medium have gotten medium with perfection.
Now for the taste listen to me very carefully I’m known to reviewing steaks from the highest places in Sydney I’m going to drop it here and say hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had this is inline with I’m Angus Sydney darling harbour. And that place is only known for steaks.
It tasted soft juicy had flavour you know a good steak thru the taste of flavour. Most places forget a big cut like this needs to be taken care of in terms of perfect seasoning. Tappers smashed it the sides mash potatoes and a nice sauce that just brings it straight to the heart with flavour. Honestly chef pat on the back well done.
The wife - Ordered lamb back strap , of course I had to try it very nice soft lamb cooked medium with a tasty crumb on the outside mixed with the yogurt sauce and beetroot relish well presented and tasty all together.
Deserts -
I had the crumble quince very nice sweet tasty perfect not much to say I’m more of a main and entree person. But if you are a sweet lover this will be nice for you.
Wife had - banoffee stack lite sweet not to sweet I liked it more then the quince cause I’m not a sweet palette person very nice.
Overall 5 star hands down read most if not all the reviews and I can say I don’t give 5 stars often but Trappers steak & seafood have gotten it I enjoyed the dinner everyone was well respected.
Reasonable prices.
Very nice tonight thank you.

We arrived at this restaurant expecting a normal motel restaurant dining experience. We instead were treated to an evening of impecable service, wonderful ambience and the most amazing food prepared by a chef who has perfected the art of combining flavours to produce taste sensations for the entire meal. The service was provided by a very professional wait staff who knew the menu and appeared at the table at the right moment all night long. The relaxed semi formal dining room provided a very enjoyable setting for our meal. We could not believe the the quality of the meals that we had the pleasure to experience. It is only the first time we have asked to see a chef, in sixty years of dining out, to thank him for his efforts in producing such excellent food. He is truly a master of his craft. You definitely deserve a chefs hat to add to your name. Do yourself, and your taste buds, a favour and dine at Trappers Restaurant any time you are in Batemans Bay.

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at this unassuming restaurant with some friends.
I was welcomed with a smile and friendly banter the moment I walked in. The atmosphere has a relaxed, coastal resort feel, with a lovely new outdoor area including a fireplace for those cooler evenings.
The food was top notch from the Steak Tartare and Kingfish Crudo to the Eye fillet, finishing with Bec's Baked Cheesecake and an Eton Mess. We couldn't fault a thing!! The wine list was extensive from which a Rose was chosen and very much enjoyed.
This will definitely be my dining preference in the Bay from now on.
Thank you for a lovely evening.

Trappers has been our go to for a beautiful dining experience for some years … we have treated family and friends and always raved about the food and service.
Whilst we see some changes have occurred we were somewhat disappointed in a very restricted menu and a reduction in meal portions and inclusions.
We were advised very early that there was no chicken …not usually a problem but 2 of our party had planned to try this .
The old menu suited our dining preferences better and felt it was better value for money.
I wish Alan and team luck with the current offering believing they are now truly chasing the top end of the 5 star market .
Nothing wrong with that but we felt there was more to offer on previous menus and food styles.
A pleasant night but will be difficult to get us back ….
Thank you guys … it was good while it lasted..

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very nice, everything is well spaced out and looks amazing. The outdoor area has heaters above the tables making sure you are always conformable.
The staff were flat out but the service was great, everybody was polite and gave us everything we needed.
The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Servings were more than generous and was more than we could eat in one sitting.
The truffled mashed potato was easily one of the best things I've ever tried.
The only let down was the lack of parking as it's combined with the hotel but don't let that stop you enjoying the incredible food here

I have been to Trappers severally over the years, each time trying something new. Their steak is really good, so is the salmon and sea food medley. They offer a modern Australian cuisine. The staff are friendly and professional. The chef often comes to say hello. Would recommend. There is a choice of 2 courses or 3 courses. More

Really disappointing meal on New Year’s Eve. Have previously raved about this restaurant to friends but this was the first time back in approx 12-18months. The menu was very limited but that wasn’t an issue. The issue was the terrible meal my husband had. He ordered a scoth fillet medium rare and when it came out it was well done and barely eatable. It was 20% hard fatty grissle and 80% dry leather. We mentioned this to the waitress politely and her response was “everyone has different taste”, I don’t believe she even bothered to give the chef the feedback. We are not ones to ever complain about a bad meal, but this was highly disappointing and we will now not be coming back again.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a delightful three-course dinner at this restaurant. For starters, we had the refreshing Watermelon Salad and the flavorful Carrot Arachani, both beautifully presented and full of taste. For the main course, the Smoked Duck and Grilled Salmon were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We finished the meal with a rich and indulgent Cheese Cake.
The service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant’s ambiance created a very pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a combination of great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment.

Good but room for improvement.
Based in an old motel, Trappers welcomes you into a warm light space, dotted with wood, black metal and surrounded by crisp white walls. You can eat indoors or outside, both spaces are well designed but the music was a little too quiet outside.
Staff were a little stiff at first but warned up quickly, they were attentive, friendly, and efficient.
You can choose from a 2 course meal for $60 per person or $80 per person for 3 course. You select from a group of meals for entree, mains and desserts.
We had 2 cocktails which were $22 each, these were very nice. All the food came out quickly. We had the spring rolls and scallops for entree, both were excellent with some nice texture added to the parsnip mash for the scallops which were perfectly cooked. The 3 spring rolls were spicy with a sweet sauce on the side and balanced with a little salad.
For mains we had the mixed seafood platter which was fairly plain and disappointing, it included octopus, prawns, mussels and scallops all well cooked. The prawns could've been chargrilled to add some different flavours, it came with a very similar side like the entree but was just a bit bland.
We also had the lamb tenderloin which was crumbed, with some potatoes, beans and a beetroot sauce and a side sauce of yogurt and possibly mint. The tenderloin was well cooked and tender but again the flavours were muted besides the beetroot sauce which was overly strong.
Lastly we had a custard tart with mango and icecream, the mango was lovely and fresh but the pastry seemed undercooked and the custard was bland. The apple tart was also disappointing having a bitterness to the apple which needed the icecream to balance.
Overall reasonable prices, good staff, quick delivery of the food and a nice atmosphere. It was only some of the dishes that let it down.

Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff.
The meals were very timely and tasty.
My disappointment was the pan fried chicken wrapped in prosciutto that I ordered came out minus the prosciutto. Also the triple chocolate tart with Raspberry Coulis came without the Coulis. Those two missing ingredients were the decider for ordering those dishes.
When paying $65 for dinner and dessert I would expect exactly what I ordered or at least be informed prior to ordering that the dishes wouldnt be complete..
